Hi Joy --I waited until this morning to open the quilt (my daughter left for college last night). Oh my gosh, it's the most beautiful quilt I've ever seen! My husband and I just stood there staring at it with tears in our eyes -- so many memories so beautifully preserved. It'll be tough but we're going to save it for Christmas. Yes, I think we both agree the cotton muslin gives it the heirloom quality I am looking for. (These quilts are a big deal in my house to my girls! They love seeing their baby clothes made into something that they will undoubtedly pass on to their kids! Even my son is looking forward to his tee shirt quilt to be made from all his old sports jerseys. I was able to pick them up yesterday afternoon.....and I pulled each one
out and LOVE THEM, JOY!! My sister's quilt, the blue chenille is perfect. The floral, texture & trim are perfect!! My aunt's quilt, the pink chenille, is also perfect for her!! at the detail. You know I have seen pictures of fabric and arrangements on
the computer but to actually see it and feel it .......... words are hard to

i just wanted to send a quick note to let you know what kind of reception the throw got. my sister was speechless and more than a little teary-eyed when she opened her gift. i made sure she opened it last, and i told her it was more than a christmas gift, it was a co-survivor gift also. when i had breast cancer last year, she drove an hour each way to take me to chemo, and did the same when i underwent many surgeries in a short amount of time. i know she already knew how much that meant to me, but having this tangible thing to remind her how i feel about her and all that she has done made it all that much more special. she was astounded at your workmanship and could not believe someone could do something that perfect in this day and age of machine made everything! again, many thanks for helping me make this christmas a special one. sincerely,rita Tx |

It's been almost a year since you made my daughters their heirlooms.
I can't even begin to tell you all the compliments we have gotten on
them. In Arizona you only need quilts 3 months out of the year but the
girls couldn't wait to get them on their beds.
Your artistic ability of a quilter shines through every time they are

Joy, I came home today to find the box of quilts on my front porch. I was so excited and still am. Words can not describe how beautiful they are. You did such a professional job on them and I can see just how much of your heart you poured into making them. They are so thick—I never expected them to be so thick. The colors are beautiful. I just want to get in my car and take them to Dave’s Mom and Sister right now, but I am going to do my best to wait until Christmas to do that. You have them folded and packaged so nicely, so I am leaving theirs just like that until then. You wrote such a sweet card that you enclosed and they will love that too. I was so nervous about mailing these precious shirts—but you made me feel so comfortable with doing so and I knew that you would make exactly what I asked for. I am so glad I trusted my instincts. You are truly a gift from God!

quilts you made from Bob's shirts are beautiful beyond words. As I
write this letter to you I am in my bedroom and my quilt is before me.
I can see my Bob in every one of the shirts. He is ever present to me
as I begin each day. The shirts were his very favorite articles of
clothing.

I received an email from my sister today. It contained a photo of the
4 Memory Blankets that you have made out of our Dad's shirts. I just
wanted to tell you how beautiful they look. I cannot wait until they
arrive so that I can see them up close!
Thank you for making them. My Dad was such a special man. I was so
blessed to have him as my father - I miss him terribly. The Memory
Blanket that you made for me will be such a source of comfort. I can't

My mom loved the quilt and was totally
shocked! I loved it so much I wanted to keep it for myself, but I
gladly gave it to her. You did a beautiful job. My maw maw saw it

Well in less than 48 hours...the girls will be opening their
most spectacular gift I believe they will EVER receive! I've played it over and

WOW...We had returned home from a mini vacation to
California. I had left specific instructions for my neighbor to keep watch for
the big box. When we opened the garage door there it was. The girls wanting to
know what it was it was whisked upstairs to our room. There Doug and I opened it
up and truly were in awe in a 1001 never ending ways! We took a trip down memory
lane and both couldn't believe our eyes. Thank you SO MUCH! I'm so
grateful to have found such a wonderful person as yourself. It will make the
girls quilts that much more meaningful knowing that the person that made it is a

I LOVE IT. My mother-in-law and Aunt are here,
and I think they were as excited about the quilt as I was, and we all
agree JEFF is going to think this is a pretty special gift. They kept
asking me about the items on the quilt. You were 100% on the mark with
your fabric suggestions. It is so warm, and so beautifully made. I
didn't know exactly what to expect but this far exceeded anything I had
hoped for! I love it, and you can tell how much love went into those
stitches, it's a work of art!
I can't wait to send it to him to enjoy and
keep him warm in Afghanistan, and I'm excited for him to bring it home
when he comes back next fall so we can all enjoy it here!

little kitten who just got it's first taste of cat nip...he was carrying it
around, rolling on it, hugging the cow in the center and kissing it. He

saying my blanket, my cows, he took his nap with it and of course he is

The kids and I just delivered the quilt to Gaylene. SHE LOVED IT!!! I cannot
begin to tell you what a perfect gift this was. Now there is more to the
story, after Gaylene opened it she began to tell me of a quilt rack that she
has that she has never put up (it is for the wall). Anyway, the quilt rack
was her mom's (who died a few years ago from cancer). She said now she has
reason to put up the quilt rack!! Of course she said it would be on the quilt
rack when not in use by her!!
Anyway, it was truly enjoyed and will be a keepsake FOREVER. Your work is
remarkable!!

My sister and her husband absolutely loved the crib "Superman"
quilt. It fits right in with her Superhero-themed nursery. We had to
remind her husband that the quilt is for the baby and not for HIM. Thanks

I received my Joy's quilt as a
gift when I went off to college. It sure did keep me warm. Four years in
college and four years as an actuary and my quilt is still like new.

Working with Joy to develop her website was / is
fun, she is a great person. The first quilt I got from her was
the Christmas Village Lap Cover which we use every Christmas.
Then I was honored by a gift of a queen size quilt which now covers our
guest bed. All of our visitors remark about the quality
and beauty of the quilt. |
My mother resides in a nursing home. She was very fortunate to receive a lap quilt from "Joys Country Quilts." She uses it when in her wheel chair and on her bed. My 8 year old daughter had several T-shirts we
had collected while on different vacations since she was less than a year
old. They represented good-time memories, and even though she could no
longer wear them, I didn't want to just pack them away. So I showed the
T-shirts to Joy and she made my daughter the most beautiful, personalized
quilt I've ever seen. The squares in the quilt are made from the front of
the T-shirt(s), alternating with denim, and each one represents a special
time and place for my daughter. She just LOVES to snuggle under her quilt
by Joy's Country Quilts. Family and friends that have seen the
quilt always comment on how beautiful and well made it is, and how they'd
like to have one like it. Joy is in the process of making my daughter a
2nd quilt out of my daughter's school spirit T-shirts that she's collected
from Kindergarten through 3rd grade. I know she'll enjoy wrapping up in

have used the three quilts I purchased only one time as we have had only one
cool spell and they felt so good. Just the right size for what I wanted.
Covers for my recliners and my couch and warmth for my cold legs and feet.
I really was impressed by the way the lap cover you made for my Mom to use
in the nursing home was holding up with numerous washings. It was washed
several times in the week and a half while I was visiting and it really held
up well. You know how those washers are in those places. But it remained
soft and held together very well. Am looking forward to using mine in the

Just wanted to let you know that the little
crib quilt you
made (Lil' Tots) is perfect for our 7 month old grandson
these last few cold nights. It is warm, soft and heavy enough to stay on
